Every app promises to make your life simpler. The strange thing is that, added together, they often do the opposite. One app for the shopping list, another for tasks, a third for notes, yet another for trips, and a pile more for the documents, the medications, the subscriptions. That was the everyday reality behind Listub - and the quiet frustration behind it is exactly where this story begins.

Years of juggling a different app for everything

For years, Listub's founder, Clirim Uskana, did what most of us do: he downloaded a new app whenever a new need appeared. Each one worked well enough on its own, but nothing talked to anything else. His life was scattered across a dozen logins, and the simplest question - "where did I put that?" - never had a simple answer. Worse, none of it was easy to share. When you plan a trip, run a household or organize an event, the important stuff almost always involves other people. The apps assumed you were alone.

If that sounds familiar, you probably know the small daily costs too. The shopping list lives on one phone while the person standing in the shop has a different one. The passport expiry date is in an email somewhere. The medication schedule is on a note stuck to a cupboard, and the trip plan is split between a chat, a spreadsheet and a bookmarks folder. None of these problems is big on its own. Together they add up to a constant, low-level feeling of being slightly disorganized, no matter how many apps you install.

2019: the idea

In 2019 the frustration finally turned into a clear idea: what if there were one app that held all of your daily things in a single view - lists, plans, notes, documents, the lot - and, best of all, let you share any of it with friends and family? Not another single-purpose tool, but a calm home for your whole everyday life, built for sharing from the very first line of code.

The principles behind the idea

From the start, a few principles shaped every decision. They are still the test every new part of Listub has to pass:

• One place, many tools. Each need gets its own module - a shopping list, a task manager, a notes module, a travel planner - but they all live in the same app, behind the same account.
• Built for sharing. Organizing is rarely a solo job, so working together with the people you choose had to feel natural, not like an afterthought.
• Private by default. Nothing is shared until you decide to share it, and people only see the rooms you invite them into.
• Works without a signal. Supermarket basements, trains and planes should never stop you adding an item or checking a note.
• Each part as good as a dedicated app. An all-in-one app is only worth it if nothing inside it feels like a compromise.

Finding the right people and starting to build

An idea is only the beginning. He spent a long time finding the right people to build it with - people who cared about privacy, simplicity and craft as much as he did. The early days were the usual mix of whiteboards, late nights and rewrites: the first prototypes were rough, features were cut and reimagined, and the team learned the hard way that "one app for everything" only works if each part feels as good as a dedicated app. So they built module by module, testing each one with real households before moving to the next.

Building that way takes longer, but it taught the team a lot. Watching how people really organize their lives pointed to better directions than anything planned on paper. Some ideas did not survive contact with reality, and that was the point: every module that made it had to earn its place by being genuinely useful in someone's week.

The goal was never more features. It was one calm place for your daily life - private by default, and easy to share with the people who matter.

How Listub is organized today

The result is an app built around rooms. A room is a space that runs one module - a "Weekly Groceries" shopping list, a "Trip to Italy" travel plan, a "Home Admin" task board. You can keep rooms to yourself or share them, and every member of a shared room sees changes in real time. Around the rooms sit the modules themselves: Shopping List, Task Manager, Magnet Notes, Quick Notes, Note Base, Doc Station, Activity Planner, Travel Hub, Subscription Central, Debt Ledger, Bucket List, Wishlist Box, Emergency Contacts, Health Cabinet and Meal Planner, plus the Screen Box and Book Shelf trackers.

There is also Lumi, the built-in AI assistant. Instead of tapping through menus, you can type or say what you want in plain language - "add milk, eggs and coffee to my shopping list" - and Lumi does it for you, in your language. It is one more way of making the app get out of your way.

2026: it finally works the way it should

After years of building and many rounds of testing, everything finally came together in 2026 - the modules, the real-time sharing, the sync across devices, all working the way it was imagined back in 2019. Is Listub free? Yes. The Basic plan is free, needs no credit card and includes every module. It works on one device with up to 5 rooms. Premium and Family plans add sharing, more devices, more rooms and file storage.
