How sharing works: rooms

Everything in Listub happens in rooms. Each room runs one module - a "Weekly Groceries" shopping list, a "Flat Chores" task board, a "Summer Trip" travel plan. When you share a room, everyone in it works on the same content, and every change appears for every member in real time. You can have some rooms that are only yours and others that you share with different groups: one with your partner, one with your flatmates, one with the friends you travel with.

• Add people as friends first, by their username or by sharing your friend code.
• Open the room you want to share, tap the three dots in the top-right corner and choose "Manage Members".
• Invite people from your friends list. A room can hold up to 20 people, including the owner.
• Everyone you invite sees that room - and only that room.

Private by default, shared on your terms

Sharing only works if you trust it. In Listub, everything is private by default - nothing is shared until you decide to share it, and you choose exactly who gets access and to what. People only see the rooms you've explicitly invited them to, nothing else. You stay in control, and the people you invite see only what you meant them to. It's the collaboration of a shared whiteboard with the privacy of your own notebook.

Busy shared rooms stay clear, too. Every room has an activity log that records what was added, edited or removed, by whom and when. If you're the owner or an admin, you can remove members at any time, and anyone can leave a room they no longer need.

Which plan you need

Sharing your own rooms is part of the Premium and Family plans. On the free Basic plan your rooms are yours alone, on one device - but you can always join a room that a Premium member shares with you and use it fully. The Family plan covers four people in total, each with full Premium features, which makes it the simplest option for a household that wants to organize together.

Tips for sharing well

• Make one room per purpose instead of one giant room for everything - it keeps each list short and relevant.
• Give rooms clear names, like "Groceries - Home" or "Italy 2026", so everyone knows where things go.
• Invite only the people a room actually concerns; not every list needs the whole family.
• Archive rooms you've finished with, like a past trip, to keep the home screen tidy. Archived rooms keep all their data.

Questions people ask

Can the people I invite see all my other rooms? No. They only see the rooms you've invited them to.

Do the people I share with need a paid plan? No. Anyone can join a room that a Premium or Family member shares with them.

Can I see who changed something? Yes. The activity log in every room shows who added, edited or removed what, and when.
